Information to receive the appropriate benefits if you are injured on the job
Every year thousands of 1199 members have work-related injuries, many of them serious and disabling.
Because these are work related injuries, you are entitled to benefits under the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Act and other related laws.
These Pamphlets (links below) are designed to give you the information you need to receive the appropriate benefits if you are injured on the job.

If you are injured on the Job:
In the event that you are injured on the job, you must report your injury immediately to your supervisor or appropriate personnel. This is important even if you do not necessarily need medical attention right away.
Failure to report a work injury immediately is one of the most common reasons for disputed claims.
Your supervisor should direct you to a network provider for your initial medical treatment. You must go to this designated network provider for the initial treatment.
After the initial medical treatment, you have the right to select an in-network attending physician for further treatment.
