Invisible No More:
Community Health Care Workers Unite
for Quality Services, Quality Jobs

Fall 2005
As caregivers, we're calling on CT Governor Jodi Rell and legislative leaders to properly fund private provider services for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled.

WE'RE TAKING ACTION

We're uniting together and speaking out through:
  • TV & radio ads to educate the public
  • Prayer vigil at the Governor's Mansion
  • Postcards to legislative leaders
  • Protests against management's refusal to negotiate fair raises, affordable health insurance, or secure retirement pensions

THE PROBLEM

Programs for people with mental illness and with developmental disabilities have been severely under-funded for years by the State of Connecticut.

The 2005 CT Legislature failed to fix the problem, so caregivers are turning to Governor Rell.
