Joint Public Hearing of the Public Health and the Human Services Committees
Thursday, Sept. 3rd
The Governor’s budget proposal calls for the closure or privatization of a number of state run facilities, widespread cuts in services for people with developmental disabilities and mental illness, including a 1% cut in funding for our agencies for people with disabilities. These services, facilities, and adequate funding are essential to the well-being of the people we care for.
We won’t allow Governor Rell to balance her budget at the expense of Connecticut’s most vulnerable citizens.
