Rally for a fair budget and a strong economy

At the moment that President Obama is increasing public spending to stimulate and revive our state’s struggling economy. Gov. Rell and some legislators are calling for cuts in vital services to cover Connecticut’s budget deficit.

Economists, our new president and congress know what a majority of people now support, cutting services in an economic crisis, when services are needed the most, not only hurts the people we serve, but sends the economy into a further downward spiral.

Rell’s call for “shared sacrifice” leaves out Connecticut’s wealthiest residents who benefited the most from this economic crisis and who have so far avoided paying their fair share.

Join social service advocates, community action organizations, public service workers and consumers.
