Report on February 10, 2009 SEBAC Discussions with Rell Administration
On February 10, 2009, leaders of the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) met with representatives of the Rell Administration.
This was our third meeting in an effort to reach a comprehensive agreement to be brought to the membership for ratification.
As the governor said in her budget proposal, she is asking our assistance to find $300 million in savings in each of the next two years.
SEBAC leaders have repeatedly told the Administration that public service workers are anxious to be part of the solution to the state's budget difficulties, provided that solution protects public services and does not worsen the economic crisis at the root of the state's fiscal woes.
Our next meeting with the State is Saturday, February 21. We continue to urge the governor and her representatives to work with us quickly and efficiently so we can produce the solutions the people of Connecticut really need.
