State of Connecticut Economic Proposals for 1199 State Contract

The State lays out economic proposals in state contract negotiations

At the December 11th bargaining session, the State of Connecticut presented their economic proposals to the 86 member 1199 negotiating committee.

The following is a summary of the state proposals:
  • No General Wage Increase during the term of this contract
  • No Annual Increments during the term of this contract
  • The State wishes to eliminate double time payment for mandatory overtime.
  • New hires will start at a rate of two salary grades below the established salary grade for the classifications of;
  • Mental Health Trainee
  • Mental Health Assistant I
  • Developmental Services Worker I
  • Children Services Assistant
  • Children Services Worker
  • LPN & RN Recruitment and retention bonuses to be paid biweekly rather than two large increments a year as is the current practice.
  • Add per diem employees at UCONN in the classifications of:
  • Nurse’s Aide
  • Staff Radiology
  • Laboratory Assistant
  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Surgical Technologist
