How To Support Striking Caregivers

CALL ON CT’S STATE LEADERS TO LET THEM KNOW STRIKERS DESERVE LIVING WAGES

Contact your legislators and Gov. Lamont’s office to let them know that you support additional Medicaid funding in the state budget for group home and day program services. Click here to find your legislator.

MAKE YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE STRIKE FUND

Strike assistance, food, picket signs, transportation to take action…in all, the basic necessities of a strike this size will cost thousands of dollars each week. Personal checks can be made out to “1199 Strike & Defense Fund” at 77 Huyshope Ave, Hartford, CT 06106, or contribute via PayPal by clicking here.

INVITE STRIKERS TO SHARE OUR STORY WITH YOUR ORGANIZATION, CHURCH,
OR COMMUNITY GROUPS

We can’t win this strike without the community’s support. Strikers can come speak about the details of this struggle with you or to your entire organization. Not only does this help educate members of your group, it also provides strikers with a chance to share their personal stories.

DONATE WATER OR SNACKS FOR THE PICKET LINE OR FOOD ITEMS
TO THE STRIKERS’ PANTRY

Nonperishable staples like rice, pasta, cereals and canned goods will be distributed to strikers so they can feed their families during this difficult struggle. Call 1199’s office to arrange a drop-off time to deliver your donation.
